Roseau, Dominica - June 26, 2017. The Ministry of Education & Human Resource Development is pleased to announce the release of the 2017 Grade 6 National assessment results. This year, a total of 1001 students wrote the examinations; that is 477 female and 524 males.
On the basis of this year's results Government has decided to award scholarships to all students who obtained four grade As or three As and one B or three As and one C or two As and two Bs. Bursaries are to be awarded to those students who obtained the equivalent of four Bs or better but did not qualify for the award of scholarship. On this basis 100 students were awarded scholarships and 86 were awarded bursaries.
The amount allocated to scholars and bursaries for textbooks and stationery is $500.00 and $300 respectively.

As in previous years, students selected to enter the Roseau, and Portsmouth Secondary Schools’ catchment area will receive forms on which they are to indicate their ranked choice of schools they would like to attend. Once these forms have been returned to the Ministry, the Ministry will work with the Principals of all secondary schools in these catchment areas to ensure that all students in the Roseau and Portsmouth secondary school catchment areas are placed in school.
The Ministry of Education & Human Resource Development would like to thank all those involved in the Grade 6 National Assessment, members of the subject committees, teachers who wrote items for the examination, the centre coordinators and supervisors, the Dominica Police and professionals in the Ministry who monitored the conduct of the examinations.
