Ministry Of Education Launches New Website

The new website of the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development has gone live!

The website features extensive content targeted at education stakeholders who wish to access information and other resource material.

As part of its objective to serve as a resource base for principals, teachers, students, parents and other members of the public, the website is full of information about key units within the Ministry. The public can now access application forms for the teaching service as well as for assistance under the Education Trust Fund.

Information pertaining to exams; fees and schedules; as well as scholarship opportunities and vacancies will also be posted and updated regularly.

Stakeholders can also access the laws, which guide the education sector. Contact information for all schools in Dominica is also now readily available and there are several links, which lead to key development partners including the Dominica State College and the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC).

The new website will also serve as a news portal and is connected to the Ministry’s social media feeds. Student achievement as well other accomplishments in schools and within the Ministry will be highlighted regularly.

The website is a collaborative effort between the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer Dionne Durand and the officers of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) and was designed by Chad George, an EMIS officer. Government’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) Unit also provided support.
